Guide
How to connect a Klipper printer through Moonraker.
Gantry uses the Moonraker HTTP API — the same one Mainsail and Fluidd use. You need the host address, the port and possibly an API key.
01Preparation
Before you start
- Your Klipper printer with Moonraker is reachable on your local network, e.g. Mainsail or Fluidd opens there.
- If you want to pause and resume prints, your Klipper configuration has PAUSE and RESUME macros.
02Step by step
Step by step
Check the Moonraker address and port
It’s usually the same address you open Mainsail or Fluidd at, and Moonraker listens on port 7125.
Check whether Moonraker needs an API key
If authentication is enabled in your Moonraker configuration, have the API key ready. Without authentication no key is needed.
Check your printer’s manualAdd the printer in Gantry
Choose “Add printer…” and the Klipper / Moonraker type. Enter the host address, the port and — if needed — the API key.
Set up the camera
Gantry uses the camera source from Moonraker and respects rotation and mirroring. You can also enter a separate JPEG/MJPEG address in printer tools.
Check the details
Open the printer details to see temperatures, the camera and MMU or CFS readings if your setup provides them.
Authentication and camera settings depend on your Moonraker configuration. Check the Moonraker documentation and your interface (Mainsail or Fluidd) for details.
03Problems
Common problems
No camera image
A web page with a video player is not a stream URL. Enter a direct JPEG or MJPEG address.
Pause or resume doesn’t work
Gantry sends the PAUSE and RESUME macros — they must exist in your Klipper configuration.
The card shows “Offline”
Check the address, port and API key, and that your computer is on the same network as the printer.
I want access away from home
Don’t expose Moonraker to the internet. Use a VPN or Gantry’s bridge on your own hosting.
Download Gantry for free.
macOS, Windows and Linux. No Gantry account, open source.
