Working with Gantry
Spoolbase: stock that knows where every spool is.
Spoolbase separates the filament type from the actual roll. Two identical spools keep their own amount, price and location, and an opened roll is not duplicated when you move it to another printer.
01At a glance
At a glance
- Filament type
- Brand, series, material, colour and product code.
- Physical roll
- One actual spool: weight, remaining filament, price and location.
- Order import
- Paste the order text or read an image with local OCR.
- QR label
- 62 × 37 mm, printed or saved as PDF.
02Step by step
Step by step
Add a filament
Open Spoolbase from the Gantry menu and choose +. Pick a product from the catalogue or enter your own.
Enter the rolls
The number of rolls, the weight and the price if you know it. The maker’s palette fills in the name and HEX colour.
Assign to a slot
On the printer card or in the AMS / Filaments view, click a slot and assign the physical roll.
Import an order
“Import order…”: paste the text or read an image, then check material, colour, quantity, weight and the price of one roll. Recognising the items saves nothing by itself.
Print a label
From the filament menu choose “Print label…”. Scanning the code opens that filament type in your stock.
Export the stock
The download icon in the header saves your stock as TXT or CSV.
03Good to know
Good to know
- The QR label describes the filament type, not one specific roll, and holds no printer access code.
- A recognised price for the whole order line is not the price of one spool — check it before adding.
- If Spoolbase is missing from the menu, check LITE mode and the Spoolbase switch in Settings → General. Don’t delete your stock.
- An unknown amount of filament stays unknown — Gantry doesn’t turn it into 0 g.
